For players that dare to visit the mystical and magical forest that Yggdrasil Gaming have provided us in their Chibeasties slot game, they will be met by some rather strange creatures. The Chibeasties look as though they have evolved from other forest species and are a cross with some of the vegetation that is traditionally found in the forest as well.
Although it is a real head-scratcher in regards to what these characters really are – it seems Yggdrasil’s creative team were on a run with this one – our Chibeasties game review will have players leaving their heads alone and clicking hard on the reels as there are some awesome rewards to be had!
Gameplay
Chibeasties is played on a grid that consists of five reels and has 20 winnable paylines available to form winning combinations upon. For those players who want to explore the mystical forest with real money can do so for as little as $0.20 per spin, whereas those who like to go head-first can place bets of up to $40 on each turn of the reels.
‘Max Bet’ and ‘Autoplay’ buttons are available on either side of the ‘Spin’ button at the bottom of the game grid, thus providing players with a rather seamless gameplay experience.
Indeed, as we mentioned earlier, there is some confusion as to what the Chibeasties are actually formed of, however the game’s paytable might just give us a hint as to what the developers were thinking about when they decided to create the characters.
The first of the symbols are the low-paying icons and these are represented by the vegetation that can be found in forest areas. Landing five of these can result in rewards of up to 80 coins. The plants consist of a water lily, a root vegetable that looks as though there are numerous potatoes stuck together and a blue plant that looks as though it is a snail.
On top of those icons, there are also the four Chibeasties to be found as well. The yellow awards players up to 200 coins, whereas the blue, the white/purple and the brown one pay 300, 400 and 750 coins respectively when five of them appear on a payline.
Feature Bonuses
Forgetting about the craziness in regards to the theme, this Yggdrasil slot game has a great number of bonus features – all of which can be found in the Chibeasties Free Play version that is available.
The main bonus feature that players should concern themselves with trying to achieve is the Free Spins feature. This bonus is triggered when three or more of the free spin symbols appear on the reels in any position. Three will trigger 10 free spins, whereas four and five will hand out a huge 20 and 40 freebies!
This feature will take players to a new screen when activated, in which one of the main paytable symbols will be transported with you. This will become an expanding symbol and will expand to fill a whole reel whenever it appears in the feature game; it also has the ability to appear on more than one reel. The spin will payout as normal, however bettors will receive a second reward as the symbol will then expand!
The Wild of the game – which looks like a route that is holding a blue gem of some sort – can also be dragged into this bonus game and provide players with the opportunity to achieve huge wins!
