Baron samedi

The legend of Baron Samedi originally comes from Haitian folklore and voodoo. He is a quite terrifying character, strongly associated with death, cemeteries and evil spirits. A version of the character even appears in the James Bond film Live and Let Die, an apparently unkillable foe, despite all of Bond’s efforts. It may seem an odd choice to base a slot game on, but Yggdrasil Gaming have done just that.

The Baron Samedi slot game has been very well designed. The character himself, dressed in a black hat and coat, with white face paint to make him look like a skeleton, looks fantastic. But it doesn’t stop there, as the background and the symbols on the reels also look great.

In this Baron Samedi game review, we’ll give you the low-down on how to play the game, if there are any enjoyable bonus features on note, and what the RTP rate is.

Like many online games, the Baron Samedi slot has three rows and five reels. Here, players will look to match symbols, to make winning combinations. There are 25 paylines, which players can select how many they wish to play with. The minimum coin size per spin is 0.004, with the maximum being 5. So, with such a large range, it really is a slot game for both amateur slot players, and those much more experienced bettors.

The regular, lower value symbols are the blue, green, purple and red gems. Following those are the brown and green male and female voodoo dolls. Then, the highest value symbols are the Baron’s wife Brijit, and Samedi himself.

Baron Samedi Free Play

It is important to say that even the simpler slot games can be confusing if you don’t have much experience with them. Jumping into the live, paid version can then be quite risky. Therefore, if this applies to you, we suggest trying the Baron Samedi free play version first.

Feature Bonuses

We’ll now get to the part of this Baron Samedi review where we cover the bonus features. The goat’s skull is the Wild symbol, which will replace all the regular symbols to help make winning combinations.

There is also the Voodoo re-psin feature, triggered when just two scatters land, unlike the usual three.

The call on the card feature is interesting, and quite different. It essentially requires players to collect cards as the progress through the game, hoping to make a collection. This can take 10, 20, 40 or 50 cards. Here, players can achieve free spins, stacked wilds and mystery cards, and a number of other bonuses to help them achieve some top winnings. It may sound confusing, but we suggest players try it out to try and get their head around it.

The RTP rate for the Baron Samedi slot game is a very generous 97%
